Seems like almost everyone has a fear, but the biggest of them all is not fear of lizards or fear of heights or fear of clowns but to me I believe the BIGGEST of all Fears is FEAR OF FAILURE. Fear of failure is that irrational fear that we will not succeed. Fear of failure is always often related to procrastination.
It was hypothesized in a study ( I recently read somewhere) that higher fear of failure scores would predict higher procrastination, whereas higher scores on a measure of personal vitality would predict lower procrastination. In this study, results were, higher scores on the fear of failure measure predicted higher scores on procrastination.
I guess the only thing to do is to overcome that fear. We can do this buy firstly to recognize a failure as a learning experience, when you fail at something is not that you cannot do it, it was most probably you did something therefore you need to evaluate your steps and go at it again. You will need to have self determination and motivation but nothing is impossible. You are your only biggest critic, therefore no one else will criticize you for failing, so do be kind to yourself and take things slow, do not rush into new ventures without personal preparation. Take everything a step at a time and keep your goals in mind and just take it from there.
Lastly, you just need to stay positive ! Its just too easy to focus on negatives and past failures , however you need to ensure that you don’t let past failures prevent you from future success. There is always a silver lining in every problem, even if you missed a goal, did you enjoy the journey ?did you learn anything new ?
It is after all your life and its up to you to look for that silver lining. It is always there..just open your eyes and you will see it.
